Can I record freeview channels off a digital television onto my video recorder?

toshibaproduct

I have just bought a toshiba digital television with freeview and I would like to record with my video recorder freeview digital channels. It is not a digital video recorder and it only has one scart socket and the aeril sockets for connection. If anyone can tell me how I can connect via scart or other means to tape the tv’s inbuilt digital channels then that would be great.

if your tv is built in freeview, connect your video through scart lead to tv.
select AV1 on your video and press record. you can only record what your are watching.

You would connect it the same way as you would for an ordinary TV.
Ariel into the recorder, scart between the recorder and the TV.
The only problem is that you will have to tune the freeview box to the channel you want to record, and you will not be able to watch another digital programme. You would, however, be able to watch an analog channel on the TV while recording the digital programme.
